A Mathematician Looks at Mathematics

Dedication

Over the many years that I have enjoyed learning and inventing mathematics I have worked alone. Rarely does one run across someone with the knowledge and inclination needed to discuss these concepts. Math can be a solo pursuit, and my working life never put me in contact with others with like interests. But discussion and teaching others about one's passion can only strengthen the work, or, if needed, demonstrate its flaws. I've been very fortunate in the last decade to have met a friend who at once became a fascinated student and then morphed into an able collaborator. Without his enthusiasm and constant encouragement I would have continued on my reclusive way and this effort of publishing would never have happened.

Thank you, Robére
